The first book in Wheel of Time series that started it all for me. I still believe this series is better then Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings…. Yes I said it let the hate mail flow. lol From the beginning detailing the Dragon’s (A man destined to save the world or break it) fall to Characters of the present day was fast read for a book of 600 plus pages, you can’t stop reading it – details abound of characters thoughts, locations, back history, and adventure. In this Story you meet Rand, Egweme, Perrin, Mat, Nynaeve (wisdom), Thom (A gleeman), Lan (A warder & King of a long lost people), Morriane (An Aes Sedai), Loail (Ogre), and their enemeies: The Children of Light (Spanish Inquisition type group protecting the light), Trollocs (Think man bear pig only scarier), Fades (Trolloc Handlers can hide in the darkness) & the Dark One…. Ultimate battle of good vs. evil. I love the fact you grow with the characters, its organic not just bam here… Ages come and ages go will this be the last? The Final? So many parallels in the characters as the story goes on to myths and legends we know…. Start reading already!
