Gettysburg Trip 2014

Reading LincolnI finally got out to Gettysburg again during the actual tourist season, which is strange since I usually avoid all the people and busy times so I can enjoy myself. But this year I said hell with it! I need me time!  Well I got it. Gettysburg is always an adventure whether i’m investigating the paranormal or enjoying the history.  Speaking of history… I stopped by a living history  encampment and met some great people from the 2nd corps field hospital led by Dr. Hunter Holmes McGuire (a great gentlemen by the name of Harry Sonntag, who with his family (blood and extended) taught me a lot about the history I thought I knew! I can’t say how awesome it was to see and be able to step back in time for a moment and meet some very cool people in the process.

I also did a few Ghost Tours of course and surprised some friends on the way… showing up on their tour when they didn’t know I was in town helps…. Nothing like throwing a tour guide off and giggling as they say your here really? lol What can I say? I gave them all a show…. no worries I had manager permission! 😉

Every year I visit Gettys, I see something new and different… this year I witnessed the Klan walking through town… Yup those idiots…. well my  understanding is they do it every so often. Why? Who knows… Anyway that was different…. Only downside to their visit was they didn’t get beat up….

Sadly Bender wasn't home

From the drive out through rain and missed exits, to the calm drive back through Amish land, I can say my batteries are charged and my creativity is back….  Next year i’m gonna find that Amish 1st Calvary Monument in the park…. not really though that’s been asked before apparently…. I always miss those moments…. Till next trip my friends….
